This simple but elegant placemat makes a statement for any special occasion!

It looks as if it is a bow on top of a package.   Made from scrap fabrics after making a table runner called, Lovers Knot.  This pattern is a variation of the log cabin block, which is basic and timeless.  This pattern is achieved with the construction of 2 slightly different blocks, with a sequence change in what color is the center.  Your choice of colors will make your table a festive and eye-catching place to gather, with all the presents on the table and not only under the tree.

Join Educator Susan Zellers as she teaches you how to sew a placemat on your serger. This event showcases the art of “Sewing with your Serger”.  You will learn how to embrace the functions of decorative stitching and quilting on your serger. During our event Susan will be using the Baby Lock Triumph Serger, but any four thread serger will work.  This event project will become a beautiful placemat, that can be made with left over scraps or any material colorway of your choice. Susan will share her vast knowledge of special techniques to make this project unforgettable.
